Summary: The NextGen Database Administrator is responsible for managing the architecture and operations of a multi-practice NextGen Ambulatory Practice Management and Electronic Health Records system in a self-hosted environment. Architecture management includes ensuring high availability of NextGen software and services, completing NextGen version upgrades, MS/SQL version migrations, and database performance optimization for large concurrent user counts. This position is also responsible for establishing and maintaining Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) interfaces to Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), Hospital Systems, Payer Sources, Regional Medical Practices, Laboratories, and Pharmacies. The NextGen Database Administrator will also serve as the DBA for additional, smaller databases deployed in the organization. The position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma required. Bachelor degree in computer science or related field. Actual work experience will be taken into consideration in lieu of education.
Technical Skills: Proficiency MS/SQL 2012. Proficiency in MS/SQL 2016 preferred.
