Under indirect supervision, provides, oversees, and/or administers a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention services in a high-intensity clinical environment which requires a high degree of independent decision-making. Most aspects of this job require clinical assessment and evaluation skills to consumers that report in crisis to a variety of community settings including magistrate’s office, community sites, and DAYMARK Service Areas in crisis. Case management/supportive services for disposition of cases is also a core function of this job.

Education and/or Experience:
Must be able to demonstrate 1 year of experience providing crisis care in assertive outreach, assertive community treatment, emergency departments, inpatient units, or other services providing comprehensive emergency/crisis services. Doctorate degree in Psychology, MSW in Social Work or Registered Nurse from an accredited college or university and fully licensed in their perspective field with one or more years of experience in emergency services. Applicants with master’s degrees who are provisionally licensed or licensed eligible as clinical social workers, professional counselors, substance abuse counselors and marriage and family counselors will be given consideration for employment. LCSW and LCAS staff is expected to complete first evaluation training and provide first evaluations in the community. Psychologist staff is expected to provide first evaluations in the community. Clinical staff with a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field able to demonstrate experience in crisis services will be considered.
Certificates, License, Registration:
Must be Licensed, licensed eligible, or Certified in Area of Practice: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychological Associate, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Registered Nurse. Persons fully licensed preferred. If not fully licensed must have made application to appropriate Board prior to or at time of hire and obtain full license or certification within 30 months of hire and/or must have already obtained a registered nurse license to be eligible for consideration of employment. If not a master’s degree staff, must be able to demonstrate competency in clinical assessment and status as a qualified professional to serve MH and SA populations.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Must be able to review medical records and understand them. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, effective treatment notes and related documents. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, jails, hospitals, insurance companies, magistrate’s offices, consumers, families and supervisors.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, mean, mode and median; ability to interpret bar graphs.
