Daymark Recovery Services’ Chief Program Officer Named Office Manager of the Year by Vaya Health

June 6,2025 — Daymark Recovery Services is proud to announce that Michelle Ivey, our Chief Program Officer, has been honored as Office Manager of the Year by Vaya Health, a leading managed care organization in North Carolina. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding leadership, innovation, and a deep commitment to improving behavioral health services across the state.

Michelle was selected for her exceptional contributions in areas such as leadership development, health system innovation, and community engagement. Among her many achievements, Michelle was the driving force behind the creation of Daymark’s mobile crisis text line following Hurricane Helene, which expanded access to emergency behavioral health services during a time of great need. She also pioneered the use of telehealth to reduce wait times at walk-in clinics and mobile crisis services—an innovation that continues to benefit countless individuals.

A passionate leader, Michelle is known for doing the little things that make a big difference—from sending handwritten thank you cards to facilitating monthly leadership meetings that explore topics like generational diversity in the workplace.
Michelle’s impact spans beyond Daymark. She is heavily involved with North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services advisory groups, where she brings the dual perspective of provider and person with lived experience. Her advocacy has been instrumental in promoting Daymark’s no wrong door policy and leading the development of seven Behavioral Health Urgent Care centers, ensuring 24/7 access to care for communities across North Carolina.

“Michelle exemplifies everything this award stands for—visionary leadership, operational excellence, and a genuine commitment to our mission,” said Billy West, CEO of Daymark Recovery Services. “We are incredibly proud of her and grateful for the impact she makes every single day.”

Michelle’s recognition underscores Daymark’s continued leadership in behavioral health services, as well as its commitment to innovation, community partnerships, and compassionate care.
