Daymark Recovery Services, Inc. has received a $10,000 Transportation Grant to assure that persons who have received acute crisis care, for substance abuse or mental health illness, have the ability to access follow-up aftercare appointments.

The Transportation Grant was given by Mark and Sallie Serosky of Forsyth County.  The grant will provide transportation to persons in Forysth County that have recently been discharged from an inpatient unit, or that have recently received any type of mental health or substance abuse crsis care. Thee service focuses on assuring access to aftercare, post a crsis event.  Mr. Serosky stated "it's important to access preventative care and transportation should not be a barrier."  Mr. Blily R. West, Jr., CEO of Daymark, stated :this provides a way to overcome a barrier many of our patients face, post an acute crisis."  The grant not only provides transportation to appointments, but assists in developing a transportation plan to promote self-sufficiency.  Mr. Serosky is a former Board Member of the former CenterPoint Human Services Managed Care Organization.  Daymark Recovery Services, Inc. is a not for profit organization that provides mental health and substance abuse care to approximately 50,000 persons a year across the state of North Carolina.
